Jefferies maintains ‘Buy’ on Zomato, sees 32% upside amid speculations on Shiprocket deal

Jefferies maintained a buy call for Zomato with target price of Rs 165. The report says that speculations surrounding a potential deal with Shiprocket, although Jefferies expresses skepticism about the likelihood of such an agreement. The company has reportedly denied any ongoing negotiations.

Zomato holds a 5% stake in Shiprocket following an investment made in 2021, and Jefferies attributes a low probability to the possibility of a deal at this stage. The report suggests that the management’s hands are currently full with Quick Commerce initiatives, contributing to the skepticism regarding a potential Shiprocket deal.

Markets see strong recovery in last hour! Nifty near 24,800, Sensex above 80,900

Indian equity indices ended on a positive note on Wednesday as there was sudden buying in the last hour. The Nifty 50 rose 71.35 points or 0.29% to settle the day’s trading at 24,770.20. The Sensex settled 102.44 points or 0.13% higher at 80,905.30. ITC, Bharti Airtel, Hindustan Unilever, Titan Company, and TCS were the top five major contributors on Wednesday. As FMCG saw buying in the last hour along with consumer durables.

Mukka Proteins gets Sebi nod to float IPO

Mukka Proteins, which manufactures fish meal, fish oil, and fish soluble paste, has received capital markets regulator Sebi’s go-ahead to raise funds through an initial public offering (IPO).

The IPO is an entirely fresh issue of up to 8 crore equity shares, according to the draft red herring prospectus (DRHP).

The company, which had refiled its draft IPO papers with the regulator in June, obtained an observation letter from it on October 30, an update with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) showed on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, the benchmark faced immediate resistance at the 19,425 mark. The Nifty ended 5 points lower, while the Sensex was down by 16 points. Among sectors, almost all the major sectoral indices witnessed significant buying interest at lower levels, whereas the Nifty Reality and Nifty Media sectors witnessed some profit booking at higher levels. Technically, after a flat opening, the market moved in a range of 100 points between 19,325 and 19,425. Any move above 19,450 should trigger the next up-move and push the upside towards 19,550 and 19,600. Immediate support is expected to be around 19,325, below which the downside can extend towards 19,200 and 19,150.
